Even though
traditional media, for example newspapers and magazines, have been around for
over a century now, they get notably more and more pushed aside from the
internet and apps. The ways news are being illustrated online, such as moving
pictures or highlighted words in different colors, are more appealing to the
younger generation than for example just a black and white photo. If
traditional journalism wants to survive against for instance Buzzfeed or
Facebook as a news source, they will have to think of other ways of publishing
their news, e.g. seize the opportunity to reach a mobile-ready audience and get
more subscribers that way. I think if the traditional journalism adapts to the
new circumstances, they will have a change for a comeback and survive in a
media environment.
